Parisian Beauty Academy - A Paul Mitchell Partner School How We Give Back

"Service is the rent you pay for room on this earth." — Shirley Chisholm

In the past five years, Paul Mitchell Schools have donated their time and more than $2.5 million in support of many charitable causes. In conjunction with our own nonprofit organization, the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, we’ve built two homes through Habitat for Humanity; fed thousands of African orphans; provided resources for caregivers through the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation; provided hair care services for the poor and homeless; helped beauty industry professionals in the wake of natural disasters; and supported the victims of AIDS, breast cancer, homelessness, domestic abuse, and hundreds of other causes, to name just a few.

"People in need are not just those who line up at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving Day," says Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh. "At Paul Mitchell Schools, giving back is an ongoing attitude about how we do business."

John Paul Mitchell Systems Chairman and CEO John Paul DeJoria adds, "It’s about each of us paying more than our share of rent on this planet in order to help many people have much better lives or even have the chance to live one. What a great culture that is!"

V.I.P Fashion Show

Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge
Pet” Awards and Fashion Show held to benefit the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, a no-kill shelter located in Oakland. Dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes competed in this unique event which brought the canine fashion world to the forefront of fame as Coco, Brandy, Marty, Chuckie, and Sly modeled this year’s hottest trends such as blinking-light collars, leather jackets, and denim separates. From the superstar treatment and beauty primping, to the flashbulb-popping runway walk, to the red carpet and limo photo ops, this was the place to be and be seen. If you were a dog, that is. In addition to competing for the coveted first place prize, these dapper dogs and their owners were able to sample some of the latest in pet care and grooming, including the new pet care product line from Paul Mitchell called John Paul Pet. The event also included opportunities to win prizes, and featured specialty food and refreshments as well. “This event is another example of what Parisian Beauty Academy and the legion of Paul Mitchell schools are about – making fundraising fun! There are so many cool and exciting things we all can do to give back to our communities - all it takes is a little ingenuity and commitment.” , said Harry Comp, Jr., Owner/Director of Parisian. “The amazing staff and Future Salon Professionals here at Parisian really put their hearts and souls into everything they do. They understand how important it is to take care of our neighbors and communities.”, said Comp.
